Carbonized White Oak is an ancient Japanese technique known as Shou-Sugi-Ban which utilizes fire in order to help preserve the wood. After torching the wood it is then heavily brushed and then oiled. The process creates a beautiful and deeply textured surface that can be used indoors or out.
